Lakshmi Bibi, who had gone to the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) in Uttarakhand to register a complaint against the NCP officials, went missing on May 21 after giving a statement to the party’s women district president. She never returned, and it has been reported that she is with the NCP government even now.

BJP MLA and state unit president of the party, Prakash Javadekar said the party will ask State Revenue Minister KJ George the government’s “direct action” and will also lodge a complaint with the Uttarakhand police against the NCP officials, who he claimed had “forced” her into coming to the district.

“We have registered a complaint,” he said.

Sources in the district administration told PTI that a young woman from the party’s district units had gone to the NDRF office and expressed her anguish that she was allegedly threatened by the party officials.

Later, she was allegedly beaten by the NCP officials, sources said.

The BJP MLA, in an interview, had alleged that the women unit of the party’s state unit and the party’s women employees were being targeted by the NCP in the state.

“This was my first experience of a NCP office owner threatening me with a knife before throwing me out of his office while I was pleading with him,” Bibi told PTI.

According to her case, she had gone to NDRF office of the national capital district after the girl child of three-year-old rape victim Nabi Kaur was allegedly abducted and later released into the custody of NCP district unit president and minister of state for women and child development Jhansi Bai.

The girl was allegedly abducted by the NCP officials from her house on March 21. The incident has brought back severe memories for BJP state president Jitendra Singh in the state. He said, “In 2013, I had also visited the NDRF headquarters to protest against rape and other heinous crimes committed against women in UP.

“But that girl had been a target of a communal stir.”
